Wilton Manors charter school student dies after collapsing in P.E. class

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating the death of a teenager who collapsed in his P.E. class at the Somerset Academy Village charter school.

Wilton Manors police responded to the school, 225 NW 29th St., at about 10:45 a.m. and found that a 14-year-old student had fallen in his gym class. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue took him to a nearby hospital where he later died.

BSO deputies had no information on what caused the student to fall or what injuries eventually led to his death.
