An 18-year-old woman is facing a first-degree murder charge after detectives say she killed a man and left him in a burning car in North Lauderdale earlier this month.
Rougiena Deriveire was being held Monday in the North Broward Bureau jail in Pompano Beach.
According to a Broward Sheriff’s Office warrant, Deriveire “did kill and murder” Darren Butler.
Butler was found dead inside a burning car Nov. 14 in North Lauderdale’s Bicentennial Park.
It was not clear Monday what led detectives to Deriveire or if detectives are looking for anyone else.
The department only said the investigation was ongoing.
