Hollywood police say a four-month surveillance closed a two-apartment drug market open for business approximately 500 feet from Sunshine Elementary Charter School.
After Thursday’s search warrant execution at 2735 Pierce Street, apartments 7A and 1B, police say they left with 20 grams of coke ($400 to $770 street value, according to narcoticsnews.com); prescription pills in a bag, 398 grams of marijuana (about $3,500 street value, according to addictionresource.com) in a bag; and five residents of 7A or 1B in handcuffs.
Those residents in that round up of the usual suspects would be Davante Houston, 25; Richard Joseph, 32; Avenack Etienne, 23; Heather Salogga, 29; and Jecksan Vega, 43.
Houston faces the most charges, four counts of delivering drugs within 1,000 feet of a school or park and one count of trafficking in oxycodone under 14 grams. He’s already acquainted with the criminal court system through two ongoing drug cases, one for possession of cocaine with intent to sell or distribute and possession of oxycodone; another for possession of Tetrahydrocannabinols, the active chemical in marijuana, and misdemeanor marijuana possession. He’s pleaded not guilty to all charges in the previous cases. He remains in Broward County Main Jail.
With charges of delivering drugs within 1,000 feet of a school or park pending from a bust in Hallandale, Joseph got charged for one count of trafficking in oxy under 14 grams. He’s also in Broward County Main Jail. Vega, Salogga and Etienne all have bonded out after being arraigned on charges of delivering cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school.
