The City of Fort Lauderdale announced Monday night that the Southwest 11th Avenue Swing Bridge is closed immediately to vehicular traffic for emergency repairs. It won’t reopen until “approximately Dec. 1.”

The bridge, which accommodates pedestrians, bicycles and two lanes of cars, connects the Riverside Park and Sailboat Bend neighborhoods. It was opened in 1925.
