Homeless man found beaten to death near Fort Lauderdale, detectives say
The Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating after a homeless man was found beaten to death outside an abandoned building near Fort Lauderdale Saturday night.
His body, which was on the ground by the building, 955 South SR 7, was discovered by a passerby at about 11:40 p.m., BSO said.
According to BSO, the passerby called 911 to report that the man needed medical assistance. When crews arrived, they discovered that the man was dead.
Late Sunday, BSO identified the man as Youssef Hamraoui, 46.
