Prostitution stings net 13 arrests. Sex menu had a $5-$50 price list
Their prices were different, but they were essentially offering the same thing — sex for money, police say.
On Wednesday, Fort Lauderdale police announced the arrest of 13 people — eight men and five woman — rounded up during a “high visibility enforcement operation to combat prostitution activities in the City of Fort Lauderdale.”
Police say the targeted areas including the Sistrunk Corridor, Andrews Avenue, Flagler Village, Victoria Park and Holiday Park.
Those arrested were: Shavana Tyson, 32; Charles Laing, 47; Norris Jackson, 38; Christopher Allen, 30; Jewel Johnson, 58; Jeremy Gorsage, 31; Brian McCree, 30; Niketa Harmon, 37; Tommie Mims, 55; Tammy Smith, 26; Miss Howard, 45; Linzy Corprew, 55, and Priscilla Atwell, 26.
According to police reports, undercover officers were offered oral sex for anywhere from $20 to $50 and sex for $24 to $50. In one case, a man offered to broker a deal between an undercover officer and a woman for $15. One man offered an undercover officer a “hand job” for $5, according to reports.
All but one, Harmon, who also was charged with drug possession, have since been released.
