Lanes reopened after fatal crash on I-95

A fatal crash on I-95 south in Pompano Beach closed two lanes on the highway early Friday morning.

The crash occurred at about 4:20 a.m. just north of Copans Road when an 18-year-old driver lost control his car and ran off the road into a tree. The driver was dead by the time Florida Highway Patrol reached the scene at 4:40 a.m. There were no passengers inside the vehicle.

Florida Highway Patrol had reopened the lanes by 8:30 a.m and are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
