Severe thunderstorm warning issued for parts of Broward, while tornado warning expires
Parts of Broward County — including Fort Lauderdale, Davie and Pompano Beach — are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 8 p.m. Monday
Meanwhile, a tornado warning that was issued for Broward cities including Weston, Plantation, Sunrise, Southwest Ranches and Davie expired at 7:30 p.m. with no reports of tornadoes.
Most of South Florida was expected to see heavy rain and thunderstorms throughout the evening, according to the National Weather Service.
“It's not going to be a good evening for outdoor activities,” said Chris Fisher, a meteorologist with National Weather Service.
The wet weather was expected to continue for the rest of the week, Fisher said.
