Police looking for vehicle involved in Broward hit and run
The suspect in a fatal hit-and-run crash that left a man dead in Oakland Park hasn’t been arrested, but the Broward Sheriff’s Office hopes newly released surveilance footage moves detectives one step closer.
Kinna Collander, 28, was struck on the night of May 5 while crossing Commercial Boulevard and Northeast Sixth Avenue while using the crosswalk or walking by it, the Broward Sheriff’s Office has said.
The vehicle, which was headed west on Commercial, continued driving. Surveillance footage released Wednesday captures the suspect fleeing the scene in what detectives believe is a light-colored car with damage to its windshield, front bumper and hood.
Oakland Park Fire Rescue took Collander to the Broward Health Medical Center, where he later died.
