Homeless man arrested in fatal stabbing in Broward parking lot
A 37-year-old man was stabbed to death in a Lauderdale Lakes parking lot after an ongoing dispute, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said Sunday.
The deadly confrontation happened at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 4000 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard.
“A passerby called 911 at 9:30 p.m. to report that an injured man was lying in the parking lot next to a fast-food restaurant and was bleeding badly,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
A homeless man, 42-year-old David Edward Shaw, was charged with second-degree murder.
The victim, who has not been publicly identified, was taken to Broward Health Medical Center where he died of “sharp force injuries.”
The suspect and victim apparently had an ongoing dispute for several days.
