A South Florida mall was on lockdown Saturday morning after police said a jewelry store owner tried to kill his employee before turning the gun on himself.
Coral Springs police temporarily locked down Coral Square Mall, 9469 W. Atlantic Blvd., around 10 a.m. Saturday after they said Gus Kiriazis, the owner of Fast-Fix Jewelry and Watch repair, shot his employee, 52-year-old Antonio Ferrer, multiple times. Ferrer is in stable condition at Broward Health North.
Kiriazis, 59, fatally shot himself afterward. Detectives don’t know what caused the shooting.
