Robber shoots store clerk. Store clerk takes revenge

A Fort Lauderdale armed robbery attempt turned into a gunshot exchange that left each party injured and put nearby schools on lockdown Tuesday morning.

According to Fort Lauderdale police, a robber shot a clerk at the Comet Food Market, 830 SW 27th Ave. The clerk returned fire, hitting the robber several times.

The robber was taken to the hospital. The clerk’s injuries weren’t life-threatening.
