Authorities arrested a woman accused of hiding marijuana in a child’s lunch box.

Tasha Denise Sims, 33, is now facing charges of child neglect, possession of cannabis, and driving with a suspended license.

According to her arrest report, a Broward Sheriff’s deputy stopped her while she was driving in Pompano Beach on Wednesday after the deputy found she did not have a valid driver’s license.

When the deputy approached her car, he saw Sims inside with a child in the passenger’s seat. A lunch box was on the seat with her.

The deputy said he “smelled the very strong odor of cannabis coming from inside the vehicle.”

When asked, according to the report, Sims said, “I got some [expletive] in the car.” She later clarified that she put it in the child’s lunch box because she was scared when she was pulled over, deputies say.

That’s when they arrested her.

It is unclear how and if she was related to the child, who was later handed over to her mother.

Sims has since bonded out on the conditions that she undergo a drug evaluation and not have contact with the child.
