Three found dead in Lauderhill home were executed, police say
Authorities are now saying three people found dead inside a Lauderhill home were murdered.
It began as a death investigation on Labor Day.
For two days, Lauderhill Police combed through a home in the 3600 block of NW 3rd Street.
On Tuesday they released harrowing news.
“We know at this point that one of our victims was bound during this incident,” said Lauderhill police Lt. Greg Solowsky.
No longer a death investigation, police are calling the deaths of Dwight Brown, his son Denzel and Dwight’s girlfriend Lisa Foreman an execution.
All three were shot multiple times.
“We’re fairly confident that the perpetrator or perpetrators that did commit this execution specifically targeted that house,” said Solowsky. “We do believe this was an isolated incident in that community we do not believe that the community is at risk at this point.”
Investigators won’t say which victim was bound, only that the crime scene was unique.
“Because of the uniqueness of the crime scene, we know that somebody in the community must know something about what happened to this family and we’re asking the community to do the right thing and step forward and help the investigation move to the next level,” Solowsky said.
Investigators said they’ve been slow to release details because they believe someone not connected to this crime may have key information and they want to make sure it’s not details they hear or read from news stories.
“The family was well-established in that neighborhood. They had deep roots within our community. They have lived in that area for quite some time. They had a very large network of support,” Solowsky said.
Friends said the family never had any outward problems. Neighbors said they can’t make sense of what could have possibly happened.
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
