Gas prices in Miami area dip slightly
Gas prices in South Florida dipped slightly over the past week while nudging up about a penny a gallon nationally.
Prices fell 0.3 cents a gallon in the Miami area, according to a survey of nearly 1,700 stations by fuel analyst GasBuddy. That’s 42 cents lower than a year ago and 10.5 cents higher than a month ago. The average price on Sunday in South Florida was $2.28 a gallon.
In Florida, the average price per gallon is $2.19, according to AAA, 2 cents less than a week ago. The Florida average has been decreasing for nearly two weeks.
But the trend will continue to skew higher — though that needs to be put into perspective.
“Even though prices are up nearly 50 cents from this year’s low, drivers are on pace to see the lowest summer gas prices in over a decade,” said AAA spokesman Josh Carrasco.
