Fugitive South Florida double-murder suspect found dead near train tracks: cops
A double-murder suspect on the run for the last four days, with a reward put out to catch him, was found dead Friday afternoon, police said.
Around 4:30 p.m., Boynton Beach police detectives and U.S. Marshals found Jyuno Alexander Daniels dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head near train tracks in the 1300 block of Northwest 17th Avenue in Delray Beach, police said.
“I’m incredibly proud of our detectives, who worked tirelessly around the clock to locate Daniels,” said Boynton Beach Police Chief Joe DeGiulio in a statement “I commend our team’s dedication to swiftly identifying and tracking down this individual. Our hearts go out to the victims’ families as we continue this investigation, and we hope this development brings some measure of closure to our community during this difficult time.”
Around 10:50 a.m. Monday, Boynton Beach police rushed to disturbance calls at a home at 2003 SW 17th Street in the Boynton Leisureville community, authorities said. Within minutes, officers found 63-year-olds Selicia Noreika and Freddy Bedasie dead.
Bedasie was shot and killed in a neighbor’s driveway, while Noreika was gunned down in the home, police said. Detectives said Daniels, 32, killed the pair. He was a Texas resident who temporarily lived in the home.
It’s unclear what the initial disturbance was, police said. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant to charge Daniels with two counts of first-degree murder with a firearm.
Boynton Beach police spent days canvassing the Boynton Leisureville community, surrounding parks and neighborhoods.
