South Beach looked different decades ago. See Miami neighborhoods of the past

Miami’s neighborhoods have changed a lot over the decades, as seen in old photos of North Beach, South Beach and downtown.

North Beach once buzzed with movie theaters, delis and bakeries. South Beach, known today for its vivid neon and trendy shops, looked different in the 1940s and ’50s along Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road.

Downtown Miami’s New Year’s Eve used to center around the King Orange Jamboree parade, with floats marching down Biscayne Boulevard.

Take a look at these snapshots of hotels, homes and grand events showing how Miami has changed over time.
