Some Mega Millions promotional billboards are having trouble fitting the lottery game’s newest record-breaking prize number because of how big it got Tuesday night.

The signs are painted to say “millions,” but the new jackpot goes beyond that.

For the third time in the lottery’s history, the Mega Millions jackpot has surpassed its name to reach $1.02 billion. The only other times the jackpot has exceeded that was last year when someone from Michigan won $1.05 billion and in 2018 when someone scored $1.5 billion in South Carolina.

The drawing for this week’s prize is Friday night, and the total is expected to get even bigger by then.

John Crow, a host of the Mega Millions cash drawing, tweeted one example of a Georgia billboard that couldn’t accommodate the prize amount.

Winning numbers for a $810 million grand prize were drawn Tuesday night and many won smaller prizes. A ticket that won $1 million in Tuesday’s drawing was sold at a Dania Beach gas station around the corner from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

However, no one got lucky enough to win the main jackpot.

The last time someone drew a winning Mega Millions ticket was 29 drawings ago on April 15, when a mother and son from Tennessee won $20 million.
