Video shows trooper, driver jumping out of the way as a truck barrels toward them on I-95

A chain-reaction crash on Insterstate 95 in Palm Beach County Thursday sent a pickup truck barreling toward a Florida Highway Patrol trooper and a woman, who were standing near her disabled SUV, video shows.

The dramatic footage, captured on the dashcam from the trooper’s patrol car at about 3:15 p.m. Thursday, shows the woman and the trooper jumping out of the way, narrowly avoiding disaster.

According to FHP, a sedan hit a white pick-up truck, which then sideswiped a silver-pick-up, forcing it into the SUV, which was parked at the apex of the northbound exit ramp to Hypoluxo Road. The driver of the sedan didn’t stop, FHP said.

The woman had pulled over after a tire on her SUV blew.

“Luckily the motorist seen here suffered minor injuries and the trooper was unharmed,” FHP said. “The driver that caused this crash failed to stop and render aide...”

Anyone with information is asked to call FHP at *347 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS (8477).
