Boca Raton Museum of Art receives a $1 million donation and shatters a 70-year record
The Boca Raton Museum of Art hit “two major philanthropic milestones” at its recent 70th anniversary gala.
The gala’s honorary chairs, Jody Harrison Grass and Martin Grass — along with their children Leila, Sharla, and Noah — donated $1 million to benefit the museum’s education initiatives, said executive director Irvin Lippman.
And more than $630,000 was raised during the gala, itself, representing the highest amount the museum has ever raised in its 70-year history at a gala event.
“These two philanthropic milestones represent the generosity of Boca Raton, and the personal commitment to the museum’s trajectory of making a difference for the community,” Lippman said in a statement.
“The Museum is honored to receive such a groundswell of support for our new programs,” he said.
The museum’s 70th anniversary Education Fund was designed to refocus the orientation of its building, to highlight the new Education Center.
“The art education programs are firing the imaginations of new generations of students in South Florida,” Jody Harrison Grass, the chair of the museum’s Board of Trustees, said in a statement.
