Nearly 760 organizations are gearing up for what organizers say is the most successful fund-raising day in Miami-Dade County— Give Miami Day.

The annual 24-hour, fund-raising blitz for local charities will begin on Thursday and end 12 a.m. Friday.

Considered one of the biggest annual giving events in the Southeast United States, the event, hosted by the Miami Foundation, will try to beat last year’s record of $10.1 million for 758 non-profits.

“On Give Miami Day, anyone can make a philanthropic impact by supporting area nonprofit organizations,” the foundation said in an email. “Throughout the day, individuals may view online profiles of hundreds of nonprofits serving Miami-Dade County and make a charitable donation directly on givemiamiday.org.”

Partnered with the Knight Foundation and the William R. Watts Foundation, the Miami Foundation is vowing to “maximize the community’s generosity” by making a bonus gift for every donation between $25 and $10,000 received on Nov. 15 through givemiamiday.org.
