Weather alert: Miami-Dade, Broward under severe thunderstorm watch

South Florida is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 7 p.m. Monday.

A tornado warning was in effect until 2 p.m.

The National Weather Service alert for Miami-Dade and Broward includes the possibility of funnel clouds and nickel-sized hail.

At 1 p.m., radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Miami Lakes and Hialeah and moving northeast at 25 mph.
