Miami-Dade County is warning people to avoid swimming near Maule Lake, Little Maule Lake and the Oleta River State Park entrance.

The county issued the advisory Monday evening after an 18-inch sewer line break spilled into the water at 7900 Williams Island Blvd. The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department is in the process of repairing the break and has posted signs in the area, according to news release.

The swimming areas near the line break are under the advisory, as are private marinas including Marina Palms Yacht Club, Williams Island Marina, Plaza del Prado Condominium Marina and Commodore Plaza Condominium Marina, according to the release.

The advisory will remain in effect until the water is deemed safe after two days of testing by the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County and the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources, according to the release.
