Police investigating after man threatens to shoot at Baptist Hospital

A man walked into Baptist Hospital on Wednesday and threatened to start shooting, WSVN-Channel 7 is reporting.

The hospital, in a statement, said: “When made aware of a situation at the hospital earlier today, hospital security followed protocol and alerted authorities.”

According to the news station, the man went into the hospital and asked for a nurse. He was told he couldn’t access a secure area, and he threatened to shoot.

“The individual in question was seen leaving the hospital,” the hospital said in its statement. “We are working closely with the Miami- Dade Police Department.”

Miami-Dade police could not be reached for comment late Wednesday.
