Jackson Health System allows more hospital and facility visitors as COVID-19 wanes

Another sign the COVID-19 pandemic dictates less of life: Jackson Health System is allowing more visitors per patient at its hospitals and other medical care facilities.

The Miami-based network released a chart of the new guidelines Thursday, two months and two weeks after halting visitation for most patients during a holiday-season COVID bounce.

Some highlights:

Adult, pedicatric and maternity inpatients who aren’t in the intensive care unit can have two visitors at a time from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily and one overnight visitor.

Newborn ICU patients can have one visitor at a time at all times; pediatric ICU patients can have two visitors at a time from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and one overnight visitor; adult ICU patients can have one visitor at a time from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and the administration can approve one overnight visitor.

Patients at urgent care, physician offices, community mental health and ambulatory care centers can have one companion at all times.
