You need a COVID test right now? Here’s a guide on finding one across South Florida
More than a dozen COVID-19 test sites are open across South Florida, though it sometimes feels like everyone is going to Tropical Park in Westchester, Zoo Miami in Southwest Miami-Dade or C.B. Smith Park in Pembroke Pines.
Long lines are crowding testing sites. The wait could look worse than a ride line at Disney — and you could be feeling sick, too.
But don’t worry. You have options. Some sites are open around the clock. Others are exclusively for students. There are drive-thru or walk-up sites, too, some with shorter lines.
If you don’t mind paying, some private health companies, urgent care centers and community health centers also offer tests. Some of these sites can be found on the Florida Department of Health’s online test locator.

Miami-Dade drive-thru test sites
These sites are drive-thru. All accept walk-ins, unless noted. To pre-register, visit Miami-Dade’s online COVID-19 test locator. Testing is free or covered by insurance, unless noted.
▪ Jose Marti Park, 351 SW Fourh Ave. in Miami. Offers PCR nasal swab test and antigen rapid test. Open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
▪ Miami Marine Stadium, 3501 Rickenbacker Causeway in Miami. Offers PCR nasal swab test and antigen rapid test. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
▪ Walgreens. Select stores offer several free COVID-19 test options for people 3 and older by appointment only. You will need to show proof of appointment, a valid driver’s license or state ID and your insurance card, if you have one. To schedule an appointment, visit walgreens.com.
▪ CVS Health, which owns Navarro Discount Pharmacies, CVS y mas, and traditional CVS stores. Select stores offer free COVID-19 test options by appointment only. CVS says most insurances will cover the cost of the test, but check with your provider before scheduling a test. If you don’t have insurance, the federal government will pay for it. ▪ Dan Paul Plaza behind FTX Arena, 400 NE Eighth St. in downtown Miami. This site is drive-thru and walk-up (wait standing in line). Temporarily offering PCR nasal swab tests around the clock. Offers antigen rapid test daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. This site will end 24-hour service at 8 p.m. Jan. 13. The site is also closed when a game, concert or event is scheduled at FTX Arena.
▪ Suniland Park, 12855 Pinecrest Pkwy. in Pinecrest. Offers PCR nasal swab test, antigen rapid test and antibody test. Open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Unlike other test sites, there is a fee to get tested. Appointments are also required. Visit milo.care/pinecrestvaccine for info.
▪ Amelia Earhart Park, 401 E. 65th St. in Hialeah. Offers PCR nasal swab test and antigen rapid test. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
▪ South Dade Government Center, 10710 SW 211th St. Offers antigen rapid test and PCR nasal swab test. This site is open 24 hours daily. If you want an antigen rapid test, it’s only available 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
▪ Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th St. Offers antigen rapid test and PCR nasal swab test. This site is open 24 hours daily. If you want an antigen rapid test, it’s only available 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Miami Dade College North campus, 11380 NW 27th Ave. in Opa-locka. Offers antigen rapid test and PCR nasal swab test. Open daily 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Youth Fairgrounds at Tamiami Park, 10901 SW 24th St. Offers PCR nasal swab test. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
▪ Zoo Miami, 12400 SW 152nd St. Offers antigen rapid test and PCR nasal swab test. This site is open 24 hours daily.
▪ Homestead Air Reserve Park, 12200 SW 268th St.. Offers antigen rapid test and PCR nasal swab test. Open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
▪ City of Miami Gardens, 2775 NW 183rd St. Offers PCR nasal swab test. Open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
▪ I-75 Park and Ride Lot, I-75 and NW 186th Street. The ramp takes you right into the site. Offers PCR nasal swab test.
Miami-Dade walk-up test sites

▪ Miami International Airport has two test sites. One of the sites, run by Communitel, at Concourse E ground level median in front of Door 11, is open 24 hours a day for walk-ins. The other site, run by Nomi Health, near the Concourse H TSA Checkpoint on the departures level at Door 20, is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily for walk-ins and scheduled appointments. ▪ Harris Field, 675 N. Homestead Blvd. in Homestead. Offers PCR nasal swab test and antigen rapid test. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
▪ Kendall Indians Hammock Park, 11395 SW 79th St. Offers PCR nasal swab test. Open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
▪ Aventura Mall, 19575 Biscayne Blvd. Offers PCR nasal swab tests daily from 9 a.m. to midnight and antigen rapid tests daily between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. This site is on the ground floor of the parking garage near JCPenney, closest to Biscayne Boulevard and 199th Street. You cannot access this site from inside the mall.
▪ Salvation Army, 911 W. Flagler St. in Little Havana. Offers PCR nasal swab test and antigen rapid test. Open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

▪ Miami Beach 17th Street Garage, 530 17th St in Miami Beach. Open daily 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Offers PCR nasal swab test. This mobile test site (it’s a van) is on the first floor of the Pennsylvania Garage on 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.
▪ City of Doral Police Training and Community Center, 3719 NW 97th Ave. in Doral. Offers PCR nasal swab test. Open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a mobile test site (it’s a van).

▪ Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. This site is only for people who can show proof of travel plans to or from FLL on any airline. The testing site is in Terminal 3, pre-security, on the lower level near the baggage claim. The site is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. There is a fee for testing at the airport. Broward K-12 student only test sites
These sites are for K-12 students only and are walk-up, which mean you wait standing in line, instead of in your car. None of the sites listed below take appointments, so just show up and wait. The sites offer free rapid molecular nasal swab testing, with results available in about 30 minutes. Testing is free or covered by insurance.
