Need a mask? A visit to a Miami-Dade library can fix that problem

A mask is required pretty much anywhere you go in Miami-Dade these days, and the county wants to make it a little easier for everyone to comply

Beginning Thursday, all 50 Miami-Dade Public Library System locations will have free face masks for anyone in need.

“This mask distribution initiative is aimed at helping to reduce the spread of COVID-19, ensure that residents in need of masks have easy access to obtain them,” the county said in a news release.

On July 1, Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez issued an Emergency Order 20-20 that requires everyone to wear a mask or other facial covering in public spaces, both indoors and outdoors.

Anyone who is caught violating the law can be fined up to $100.

The masks will be available as long as supplies last, the county said.
