Here’s where food distributions are in South Florida to help during COVID-19 crisis

For weeks, familiar names like Miami Heat forward Udonis Haslem, elected officials in South Florida, and charitable organizations like Farm Share and Feeding South Florida have all joined to help feed people who are struggling during the coronavirus pandemic.

Here are some organizations in South Florida that continue to have free food distributions scheduled. Unless otherwise indicated, most are drive-though only, meaning you wait in your car in line, pop your trunk, and a volunteer will place the food box inside.

This list of Miami-Dade, Broward and Florida Keys locations will be updated.

Ongoing and weekly

Feeding South Florida hosts drive-through food distributions at parks on various days weekly beginning at 9 a.m. in Miami-Dade, according to the county. An ending time is determined when food packages are distributed and that changes daily based on traffic to those sites, according to Myriam Marquez, communications director for the office of the mayor. Call 786-300-9046 for information. These parks include:

Tuesday at Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th St., Miami.

Wednesday at Homestead Air Reserve Park, 27401 SW 127th Ave.

Thursday at Amelia Earhart Park, 401 E. 65th St., Hialeah.

Unity Groves in Homestead will distribute 800 boxes of fruits and vegetables every Saturday, from May 23 to June 27, at two locations:

9 a.m.: Larry and Thompson Park, 12451 SW 184th St., Miami.

11 a.m.: Miami-Dade County Auditorium, 2901 W Flagler St., Miami.
