Popular hip-hop festival Rolling Loud rescheduled to February 2021 due to coronavirus
Rolling Loud, one of the most popular hip-hop music festivals and which was supposed to be in May at Hard Rock Stadium, has been rescheduled until February 2021 due to the coronavirus.
Festival officials announced the postponement via social media late Wednesday afternoon, saying they worked “around the clock” before finally deciding to move it to Presidents’ Day weekend on Feb. 12-14, 2021.
“As the spread of COVID-19 increased to tragic levels, it became clear that we cannot proceed,” the statement read.
The three-day festival, which was to feature Travis Scott, Rick Ross and Megan thee Stallion, was originally scheduled for May 8-10 at the stadium in Miami Gardens.
All tickets will be honored for the new dates. An email with instructions on how to obtain a refund will be sent on April 8, according to the festival officials. The entire lineup is expected to return.
Rolling Loud is the latest festival to either be postponed or canceled as the COVID-19 outbreak worsens. SXSW, Governers Ball and Ultra have all been canceled while Coachella and Miami’s iii Points festival were postponed until October.
Artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Cardi B and Chance the Rapper have all performed at Rolling Loud. The festival has grown since its inception in 2015 with showcases now in New York, California and Australia.
