Coronavirus

This Miami couple just threw a gender reveal party in quarantine. From their balcony.

You don’t hear only bad news these days.

People are still living their lives — at a distance, of course.

Parents to be Omaar Yemini and Stephanie Márquez held a gender reveal party on their balcony in downtown Miami on Saturday amid stay at home orders.

They invited friends to their 3 p.m. virtual festivities via Facebook and Instagram.

Yeminim who co-owns Naomi’s Garden Restaurant and Lounge, posted the video of the exciting moment on his social media channels, recorded with the help of a drone.

“One, two, three!” he shouts to the tunes of Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You.”

A pink cloud bursts from a confetti cannon.

“Oh my God!” screams Marquez, the director of alumni affairs/the annual fund at St. Thomas University.

They both embrace.

We told you: There is still some good news out there —.you just have to look for it.

“We had absolutely the best day ever and the overwhelming love and support we’ve received from family, friends and strangers has been incredible!” Marquez told the Miami Herald, saying they didn’t have any names picked out yet.

Added Yemini: “The story brought so much joy and positivity to so many people.”
