Want to get a drive-thru coronavirus test at Hard Rock Stadium? Prepare for long lines

OK, so you have the symptoms of coronavirus, which include coughing, fever and shortness of breath.

And you want to get tested.

Prepare to wait — for a long time.

Video taken at Hard Rock Stadium Monday morning shows lines snaking for blocks and blocks.

If we didn’t know better, we’d think a Cat 5 hurricane was coming and locals were desperate for gas. The last time we saw lines like that, we were doing a Jim Cantore watch from The Weather Channel.

On Saturday, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Hard Rock’s new mobile testing site that’s open for those 65 and older from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Seniors, know that you need to bring ID with you, and you must have symptoms to get tested.

The mobile site is also open to first responders and healthcare workers, so stay away if you do not meet that criteria.

The test involves a somewhat invasive swabbing of the nostril for a sample, which will go in a biohazard bag and sent to a testing lab. Results come within 48 to 72 hours.
