Get takeout or curbside service at these upscale Miami spots during coronavirus crisis

Many of the upscale restaurants in Miami and Miami Beach aren’t generally known for takeout or curbside pick up (unless you’re talking Joe’s Stone Crab).

But in light of mandates and restrictions due to the coronavirus scare, many high-end restaurants are turning to curbside service and limited takeout menus to feed their customers (and bring in business at a difficult time).

Here are a few of the upscale restaurants around town where you can pick up more than just a pizza curbside.

Not that there is anything wrong with pizza. Pizza remains, as always and in a crisis, life.

Azabu Miami Beach

This upscale Asian restaurant in the Marriott Stanton Hotel South Beach is offering delivery, takeout and curbside pickup. The menu that includes starters like miso soup or shisito peppers and appetizers from the Robata grill like chicken wings, yakitori thighs, branzino filet or stone-seared waygu beef. Entrees include Karaage fried chicken, miso black cod and King crab fried rice, or you can order one a salmon, snow crab, spicy tuna or vegetarian roll.

Prime 112

You can’t celebrity-watch as usual at this famous steakhouse, but you can get a bone-in ribeye with free delivery from the restaurant. Across the street ,sister restaurant Prime Italian at 101 Ocean Drive is also offering free delivery; call 305-695-8484

The Surf Club Restaurant

Thomas Keller’s high-end Surfside restaurant has put together a special takeout menu because braised beef and forest mushroom lasagne, veal and lamb chops and a bucket of his famous fried chicken may be what you need to get you through with a smile on your face.

Zuma

Get your Japanese favorites for takeout and order over the phone or in person at the Kimpton Epic Hotel (note: you won’t be allowed to wait in the restaurant so the phone is your best bet).

Sugar

The restaurant and bar atop the East, Miami just started a delivery menu via Uber Eats. Choices include appetizers like bang bang shrimp and Korean spicy chicken wings, with entrees like shrimp, salmon or tuna tartare rolls and salmon or beef satay.

Boia De

This restaurant in Little Haiti re-opens March 19 with a takeout menu that includes favorites like crispy polenta and tagliolini al Nero, plus sandwiches like a BLT with sausages and the fried chicken sandwich. You can grab your takeout from the ventanita window.

Casa Tua Cucina

The Italian food hall at Brickell City Center just launched neighborhood takeout and deliver with Next Door and outside of Brickell with Grubhub, Postmates and Uber Eats. Think of it: now someone can bring Tagliolini Cacio e Pepe or jumbo prawns to your door. In addition to housemade pasta and meat and fish from the grill, there are also breakfast options. Curbside pickup available

Meraki Greek Bistro Downtown

In addition to curbside service and delivery, Meraki is offering a special menu for five or more guests plus a “Cook at Home” menu with ingredients to make your own Greek dinner at home from scratch. The same service is available at Meraki Coconut Grove at 3462 Main Highway, Miami, which is also offering a 50 percent discount on takeout wine or beer orders; 786-254-7079.

At this Coconut Grove spot next to Peacock Park, you can order snacks, salads or entrees like short rip pappardelle or salmon for takeout. There’s also a kids’ menu.

Ice Box Cafe
