MSC Cruises announces partnership with Cirque du Soleil
Geneva-based MSC Cruises announced a partnership on Monday with Cirque du Soleil that will see the Canadian entertainment company perform on a new line of cruise ships.
The performances will take place on MSC’s new Meraviglia line, a 5,700-passenger ship that launches in 2017. The Meraviglia features a 450-seat dining-and-entertainment venue that cost about $21.5 million, according to a press release. The venue was built specially for the Cirque du Soleil performances, which are exclusive to MSC.
The four Meraviglia ships will have home ports in Geneva, Marseille and Barcelona.
