Longtime executive Royal Caribbean Cruises executive Adam Goldstein has left the company.

Goldstein was the vice chairman of the Miami-based cruise corporation. He had been with the company for 32 years and served as president and CEO of the Royal Caribbean International brand previously.

The company declined to comment on the reason for Goldstein’s departure. A spokesman said he left on good terms.

“Adam will always be family to us and we wish him the best in his future endeavors,” the company said in a statement. The trade publication Travel Weekly reported that Goldstein’s last day was March 2.

The corporate shake-up comes as the cruise and tourism industry faces a growing challenge because of the novel coronavirus spread across the globe. Royal Caribbean and other cruise companies have warned that the disease will cause a dip in earnings.

Goldstein remains chairman of the cruise industry’s lobbying group, Cruise Lines International Association, a role he assumed in January 2019.
