This cruise line will soon be one of the biggest. It just hired a new US president
Hospitality veteran Ruben Rodriguez has been named president of Fort Lauderdale-based MSC Cruises USA, the company announced Monday.
As president, Rodriguez will work with chairman Rick Sasso to increase brand awareness, strengthen MSC’s U.S. strategy and oversee development of MSC’s MIami terminal, due for completion in 2022.
MSC Cruises, the offshoot of a shipping firm, has embarked on an ambitious strategy to penetrate the North American market, with a plan to add at least 10 ships over the 10-year period leading up to 2028.
Rodriguez has held a series of executive positions, including stints at Carnival Cruise Line and Great Wolf Resorts. Most recently, he has consulted and served on the boards of several international companies and private equity firms.
He replaces Robert Fusaro, who left the company in January.
