South Florida travelers will have more options to get to South America and the Caribbean starting this fall.
Southwest Airlines is adding daily direct flights to San Jose, Costa Rica and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport beginning Nov 9. A one-way ticket to San Jose is currently priced as low as $89, with seats to Punta Cana going for as low as $129.
The flights will be available after government approval. The listed ticket prices are available if purchased from May 18 through the 22nd and can be used from Nov. 6 through Jan. 7, 2018.
Southwest previously announced flights to Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, which are set to start Nov. 5. Fares and flight schedules for that route have yet to be announced.
