A bevy of Miami-area tech events are about to coalesce in April into what is becoming officially known as Miami Tech Month.

Headlined by the annual eMerge Americas conference — postponed and suspended the past two years due to the pandemic — and featuring a massive Miami tech hiring fair, organizers are billing the stretch as having something for everyone. The month is being sponsored by blockchain technology group Algorand.

“We wanted to give something to all Miamians, including folks who are just intellectually curious and asking what tech could mean for them personally and professionally,” eMerge Americas CEO Felice Gorordo said.

He continued: “I think this is an opportunity for anyone and everyone to be experiencing Miami tech like never before.”

Below, we highlight the events and speakers we think should not be missed amid a wider selection of top-notch goings-on.

A three-day conference dedicated to non-fungible tokens, decentralized autonomous organizations, and everything else Web3 related. Keynote speakers include Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, VaynerNFT President Avery Akkineni, and more. It’s April 1-3, Mana Wynwood Convention Center. Bitcoin 2022 conference

One year after relocating from Los Angeles to Wynwood, the world’s largest Bitcoin conference will be back in Miami-Dade, this time at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Keynote speakers include Founders Fund Partner Peter Thiel, psychologist and YouTube personality Jordan Peterson, tech investor Cathie Wood, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele, and more. BITE-CON

The first annual Black Innovation Technology & Entertainment (BITE) Conference will work to connect Black students and entrepreneurs with the latest trends in Web3 technology, and how they can accelerate their careers in that space and beyond.

“Our communities often get left behind when it comes to emerging technologies,” conference founder Temanté Leary said. “So it’s really important that we are at the table. This is us creating our own table, so to speak.”

BITE-CON also will announce the first-ever E-sports scholarship and fund for students at an HBCU. Networking and live entertainment will also be featured. It’s April 11-12, Florida Memorial University. More info at: bite-con.com

Venture Miami Tech Hiring Fair

More than 55 companies hiring for at least 1,550 positions will post up at the latest tech hiring fair produced by Miami Mayor Francis Suarez’s Venture Miami tech advancement and opportunity group. Event organizers say attendees should come ready for on-site interviews and on-the-spot hiring. An Uber voucher code, VENTUREMIAMI, will allow attendees to receive two $15 Uber credits. (The code only will be active 1 hour before and after the event.) It’s April 14, Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus. More info at miamitechmonth.com/events/venture-miami-tech-hiring-fair/.

eMerge Americas/U.S. Conference of Mayors Summit

Last fall, cryptocurrency exchange Blockchain.com was announced as the event’s key supporting sponsor. In addition to a Women Innovation and Technology Summit and an Investors Summit, eMerge is slated to host a U.S. Conference of Mayors summit focused on cryptocurrency adoption. Keynote speakers for the broader conference include tennis legend Serena Williams, reddit co-founder and 776 Ventures CEO Alexis Ohanian, Blockchain.com CEO Peter Smith, and more.
