Record real estate sales in Little Havana and the Design District

Two real estate trades squashed sales records, ONE Sotheby’s International Realty announced Tuesday.

A multifamily building at 1023 SW Sixth Court in Little Havana traded for $10.7 million and a commercial property at 3630 NE First Court in the Design District sold for $7 million, according to a news release from ONE Sotheby’s International Realty.

At $263 per square foot, the multifamily property — named Miramar Apartments — marked the most expensive per square foot sale in Little Havana. Burke Leighton Asset Management bought the 44-unit building, built in 2003.

The Design District property, which currently operates as a Kidco Daycare School, sold for $773 per square foot, the highest price in the district since 2007. According the release, the buyer — whose name ONE Sotheby’s International Realty declined to release and is not yet available in public property records — plans to turn the property into a retail location.

Both transactions closed on June 2. Joseph Zichelle and Karla Rodriguez represented the buyer of the Design District property, while Hilda Riano of Nations Home Realty Corp. represented the seller, Kidco. Joseph Zichelle represented both Burke Leighton Asset Management and Miramar Apartments, LLC in the transaction in Little Havana.
