Historic home built by Miami Springs founder for his mother is on market for $1.3 million
The 95-year-old home that Miami Springs founder Glenn Curtiss built for his mother is on the market for $1.3 million.
The five-bedroom, three-bath 3,500-square foot home, nestled on a 9,900-square foot lot near the golf course at 85 Deer Run Dr. in Miami Springs, was built in 1924 for Lua Curtiss.
The property’s 2019 assessed value is $362,917, according to the Miami-Dade County’s Property Appraiser’s Office.
Curtiss was credited with developing large swaths of land in Miami Springs, Hialeah and Opa-locka.
The current owners, Frank and Yvonne Shonberger, bought the Pueblo revival-style home almost 40 years ago. In 1985, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
