Verizon leads ratings in U.S., state

Verizon Wireless led in the rankings of four national wireless providers in the United States in the third National RootScore Report, issued Tuesday by Seattle-based RootMetrics. Verizon also won the Overall RootScore award in Florida, and also earned top scores in four categories: Reliability, Speed, Data Performance and Call Performance, the company said.

RootMetrics, an independent mobile analytics firm, drove over 16,000 thousand miles throughout Florida, and tested 446 indoor locations. The company said its study was designed to portray the consumer mobile network performance experience at a national and state level, beyond their metro-specific reports. Scores were based on RootMetrics testing performed in the second half of 2014.

Verizon, operator of the nation’s largest 4G LTE network, rolled out its latest XLTE network technology in several markets, including Miami.
