Spirit Airlines’ first-quarter profit slips to $62 million
Spirit Airlines posted a smaller profit in the first quarter from a year ago as it faced increased pricing competition in most of its markets, the carrier reported Tuesday.
The Miramar-based low-cost carrier posted net income of $61.9 million, or 86 cents per share, a 10.3 percent decline from $69 million, or 94 cents per share, in the same period in 2015.
