Gas prices continue to go up, up , up in the Miami area. Over the last week, prices rose by 6.4 cents a gallon.
In a survey of nearly 1,700 stations in Miami-Dade, the average price on Sunday was $2.13 a gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.
“The rise in gasoline prices comes as refinery maintenance begins kicking into high gear,” said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy.
Gas prices across the country broke the $2 average last week for the first time in nearly three months, according to AAA. Prices increased 6 cents a gallon nation wide to $2.04 a gallon. Floride prices rose to $2.06, an increase of about 3 cents.
And more increases are coming.
“Although pump prices should rise more in the coming months, they will likely remain lower than year-ago comparisons,” said AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins.
