Cesar Conde, chairman of NBCUniversal International Group and NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, is joining PepsiCo’s board of directors, the company announced Friday.

Conde, who also serves on the executive committee of NBCUniversal, will join Pepsi as an independent member of its board.

The Miami native joined NBCUniversal in 2013 as executive vice president before transitioning to chairmen. Prior to that, he held senior executive positions at Univision Networks for a decade, serving as president of the Spanish-language network from 2009 to 2013.

“Cesar is a strong global executive with an impressive track record spanning business, finance and media,” said PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi. “He will provide fresh thinking on today’s consumer and media landscapes, and his unique insights will be particularly valuable as we continue to build new digital marketing capabilities and adapt to changing demographics around the world.”
