Instacart, the fast-growing on-demand grocery delivery service, will now deliver liquor from retailer Total Wine & More’s South Beach store. The company said it plans to add stores and launch the partnership in more cities in coming months.
Customers in the Miami Beach area within certain ZIP codes can order wine and spirits from the new Total Wine & More store in South Beach and have it delivered in as little as one hour.
“We decided to launch with Instacart in our new Miami Beach store, knowing that delivery would need to be part of the experience in this very urban environment. The voice of the customer reaffirmed that on day one when we opened in early October,” said John Jordan, senior vice president of customer experience at Total Wine & More.
Instacart launched in San Francisco in 2012 , and has since expanded into 18 metro areas, including the Miami area in May. Instacart connects customers with personal shoppers who shop for and deliver grocery orders, eliminating the need for costly infrastructure such as inventory, warehouses and trucks. In January 2015, Forbes named Instacart “America’s Most Promising Company.”
