City of Miami and Omni Community Redevelopment Agency leaders, along with Chris Cooney, chief operating officer and co-owner of EUE/Screen Gem Studio, held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the Florida Film & Television Center on Friday.
The new studio, at 50 NW 14 St., will have two film sound stages of 15,000 square feet, each, and about 12,000 square feet of office, editing suites, and accessory rooms. It will be geared to serve productions of all sizes, including major movies, television series and independent films.
The city of Miami said the Florida Film & Television Center is part of the revitalization along 14th Street, west of the Adrienne Arsht Performing Arts Center.
