Verizon Wireless announced Thursday that it has installed new advanced 4G LTE wireless systems at two of South Florida’s top cultural centers — the New World Symphony Center and the Adrienne Arsht Center — as well as at the Four Seasons Hotel in Miami.

At the New World Center in Miami Beach, Verizon engineers recently finished integrated a high-tech “small cell” system into the landmark performing arts center designed by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry. The technology will boost Verizon 4G LTE service for concert-goers, musicians and staff inside the facility, the company said.

Verizon technicians also are installing a new small cell unit to work with the existing existing DAS (distributed antenna system) technology at the Adrienne Arsht Center in downtown Miami, and the work should be completed in December. The DAS incorporates hundreds of small wireless antennas hidden throughout the showcase structure. Verizon also has activated a new in-building DAS at The Four Seasons Hotel on Brickell Avenue to service business and leisure travelers.

Verizon 4G LTE service comprises all of the company’s network footprint in Florida, which covers 99.8 percent of the state’s population, the company said in a news release.
