New Canopy by Hilton brand coming to Miami

A new brand from Hilton Worldwide is coming to Miami’s Brickell area.

The hospitality company announced the new concept, Canopy by Hilton, last week. Described by the company as an “accessible lifestyle brand,” the hotels will focus on comfort, local touches and included value.

Properties are expected to start opening in 2015, though a target date for the Miami project has not been disclosed. The brand has signed 11 letters of intent to open hotels in cities including Miami; Portland, Ore.; San Diego; Savannah; Washington, D.C.; Nashville and London.

Maryland-based Baywood Hotels, which has a regional office in Miami, is the ownership group behind the local property. It will be located at Southwest 10th Street and Southwest First Avenue, west of Mary Brickell Village. The number of rooms has not yet been announced.
