KFC expands Saucy’s Florida footprint with a new location of concept restaurant
The chicken wars have a new player.
KFC’s new concept restaurant, Saucy!, opens Monday in Bradenton, on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Saucy also has four locations in Tampa and five in Central Florida, including in Orlando. Saucy hasn’t opened locations in South Florida.
Chicken is still the centerpiece of the KFC brand expansion. You’ll find tenders and sandwiches on the menu.
But you’ll also find sauce. Lots of sauce.
There are now 13 sauce varieties, including Classic BBQ, Saucy’s Sauce, Chimichurri Ranch, Saucy Ranch, Smokey Bacon Ranch, Salsa Ranchero, Fiery Buffalo, Jalapeno Pesto Ranch, Thai Sweet ‘N Spicy, Korean Sweet Heat, Sweet ‘N Saucy BBQ, Creole Honey Mustard and Sweet Teriyaki.
And there are dishes on the menu that you won’t find at your regular KFC.
The new Bradenton location has two new menu items: the Big Sammie — two chicken tenders with greens, hashbrown straws and choice of sauce wedged in a King’s Hawaiian roll. And the Saucy! x DRIPS by Pepsi — a collection of four mood-inspired drinks.
KFC parent company, Yum! Brands Inc., launched the Saucy concept in Orlando with 11 different sauces, according to Nation’s Restaurant News.
