Two Uniqlo stores are moving into the Miami area. Here’s what we know

Uniqlo, the minimalist casual wear retailer known for exciting Gen Z almost as much as Fleetwood Mac clips on TikTok, is making its first moves into South Florida.

A store is opening on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach, a landmark shopping area undergoing a revamp. Another is coming to Aventura Mall. Both will land in the fall.

Uniqlo is known for its house-designed, cost-conscious “LifeWear” basics. The men’s and women’s T-shirts, jackets, jeans, sweaters, cardigans, underwear, slacks and parkas aim for functional rather than trendy.

Lincoln Road and Aventura representatives confirm Uniqlo is on the way, but did not offer details on how big the stores will be, designs or exact opening dates. Uniqlo has not responded to questions about its Miami-area plans.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Uniqlo to Lincoln Road,” said Lyle Stern, president of the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District. He said the location will fill a vacant storefront at 530 Lincoln Rd.

Showfields, a New York-based retailer that hosted artist installations, eateries and bars in 2020 inside its 14,300-square-foot, two-story space, was last here. The address also once housed the Miami Beach Tribune in the 1930s, a newspaper that chronicled the street’s early development before the paper rebranded on the mainland as the Miami Tribune.

“Uniqlo’s decision to open its first public street-facing Florida store on Lincoln Road speaks to the momentum and highlights what makes this district so distinctive and appealing to brands,” Stern said. “It’s exciting to see brands continue to choose Lincoln Road as ongoing growth and investment drive more residents and year-round visitors, making it an ideal place to connect directly with diverse audiences in one of Miami Beach’s most iconic public spaces.”

The clothing company, founded and concentrated in Japan since 1949, has grown to 2,500 stores worldwide.

Celebrities including music producer Pharrell Williams and tennis pro Novak Djokovic have been brand ambassadors for Uniqlo, and have promoted the stores with appearances in New York, Tokyo and Paris. Designer Alexander Wang collaborated with Uniqlo on a collection and attended launch events in New York City. Actress Emma Watson was spotted in Tokyo sporting Uniqlo threads.

Known for splashy Instagram-ready openings, Uniqlo is keeping its Miami plans under wraps.

Uniqlo has been growing its U.S. footprint with nearly 80 U.S. stores. Recent openings include locations in New York. Austin and Houston are also expected in 2026, along with the South Florida debuts.

Florida got its first of two Uniqlo stores, both in the Orlando area, in 2016. The 25,000-square-foot, two-story Disney Springs store, the original Florida flagship store, is relaunching for its 10th anniversary, the company told its 700,000 Instagram followers.
