Want a job near the beach that pays $100,000? These Miami-Dade cities are hiring

Wouldn’t it be nice to work near the beach?

The following jobs aren’t exactly on the sand under a palm tree or big umbrella. But most are based a couple of blocks away in seaside cities that run through or straddle A1A.

What follows are some of the job openings in Miami Beach, Surfside, Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles Beach that pay at least $100,000 a year.

Operations manager

Description: Performs a variety of professional administrative and managerial duties in assisting the Public Works Director.

Sunny Isles Beach

Certified police officer

Description: General duty police work consisting of patrol work in assigned areas.

Salary: $80,000.00 - $118,115.01

Chief building inspector

Description: Supervises the inspection and enforcement of an assigned activity in the Building Department.

Salary: $89,916.11 - $147,462.42

Floodplain coordinator

Description: Responsible for managing and overseeing the city’s floodplain-related activities including all aspects of the city’s participation in the FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program and Community Rating System.

Salary: $63,725.93 - $104,510.52

Public works foreman

Description: Performs and coordinates work activities of various divisions (streets, facilities and public works maintenance, fleet, stormwater) within the Public Works Department.

Senior building inspector

Description: Performs a variety of complex technical and administrative work in reviewing development operations to verify conformity with all approved building plans and specifications for the Building Department.

Salary: $73,974.20 - $121,317.70

Transportation manager

Description: Manages the daily operations, services, and development of the city’s transportation division.

Salary: $70,451.62 - $115,540.66

Certified police officer

Description: Performs general police functions in the prevention of crime, protection of life and property and apprehension of criminal offenders, through the enforcement of laws and ordinances and the maintenance of community order through the performance of numerous human services, as well as providing general information and assistance to the public.

Salary: $73,268 – $121,791

Assistant director, parks and recreation

Description: Helps lead parks and recreation department with a long-standing tradition of providing high-quality recreational opportunities, facilities, and open spaces to the residents of Miami Beach.

Salary: $144,910 to $262,175

Senior plumbing inspector

Description: Administrative, supervisory and technical work in enforcing compliance with applicable national, state, and local laws. codes. ordinances, and regulations through the inspection of new and existing plumbing installations and reviewing construction plans and specifications. Work includes office and field duties.

Salary: $2,903.20 - $4,688.80 biweekly

Senior mechanical inspector

Description: Administrative, supervisory, and technical work in enforcing compliance with applicable national, state, and local laws, codes, ordinances. and regulations in the City’s Building Department through reviewing construction plans and specifications of new and existing building. structures, and properties. Work includes offices and field duties.

Salary: $2,736.80 - $4,420.00 biweekly

Transportation manager
